Illustrations of the Year 1956 Penrose Annual, No.2 of 5
Within the section of “Illustrations of the year” in the Penrose Annual 1956 is a subsection of the best work from students of the London School or Printing and Graphic Arts. I think (understandably) it provides some of the more exciting and fresh illustration in the volume.
The designs were made by the students in the department of design, typesetting and plates by the graphic reproduction department, and machining done in the departments of letterpress and lithographic printing.
It would be great to see what career paths some of these people have taken - if anyone knows of them today I would love to know.
